A Changed Climate: Learning to Live in Reality
We live in a new era of the planet’s history. Past epochs have resulted from dramatic events. Meteor strikes, volcanic activity, and moving ice sheets have “tweaked” Earth’s climate.
Today, we live in a new climatic epoch in which humanity has been the driving force. Dr. Levy’s teaching is as varied as his research interests. From the colonial era to pirates, slave trade to rise of capitalism, he helps audiences understand that history is not “correct facts” and biased error, but rather ongoing discussions that change as people change. A prolific writer, he has published two books: Where the Cherry Tree Grew: The Story of Ferry Farm, George Washington’s Boyhood Home and Fellow Travelers: Indians and Europeans Contesting the Early American Trail. This talk is in partnership with the West Central Florida Chapter of the American Meteorological Society.
