The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), the Hillsborough County Branch, celebrates the 100 year anniversary of the organization's inception.

On Thursday, February 8th, 2018 at 6:00pm, the Hilton Tampa Downtown hotel hosted the evening that consisted of a dinner and an award ceremony celebrating members of the NAACP and also honoring the Hillsborough County Public Schools (HCPS): LEAD Student recipients.

In celebration of Black History Month, the LEAD (Lead, Empower, Advocate, and Dream) contest challenged students to create an artistic interpretation expressing how he or she has been inspired by a local black leader. The evening celebrated the 11 winners from the original 347 submissions.
